I was playing with a guy that I just met and we both agreed this is a GREAT bang for the buck. It is a little bit of a drive if you live in metro atlanta, but it is nice to get away and drive through a sleepy little town every once in a while. The new greens have come in nicely and the course looks better than ever. I was on 16 (their signature water hole) driving up to the green and I just stopped and tried to absorb the view for a full minute. I felt like I was at the center of the golfing universe it was so pretty.
Nice layout. Fairways were in good shape but the greens were in awful shape. It was wet the day we were there so it was cart path only. Not too hospitable staff. Was being rushed even though we were having to walk to all our shots. We had large group that plays in the area every year. Once was enough at this course though.
As far as the greens go, a couple of them had problem spots on them. The 15th was in bad shape but overall the course was in good condition and for $20 - 25 via golfnow it's an excellent value. Several very interesting holes. We had a good time.
Course has a lot of potential, I loved the layout. The greens were in horrible shape though. At least half of them were beat up pretty bad. I was disappointed because I normally play Stonebridge when I'm in Rome but, I heard this was a nice track. Stonebridge is in awesome shape since they've redone their greens. Overall I left feeling empty but only because of the condition of the greens. When they take care of that, I'm back in a heartbeat..
Great place to play. Would play more if I lived closer. The course is always in great shape. Some great holes on the back including a risk reward par 5 with water all down the left side. The green sits to the right out in the water. Throw in the chimney par 3 hole makes for a nice couple of back to back holes.
