This course is phenomenal. The greens are the best I have ever putted on. There are so many undulations on the green, which places a premium on placement of your incoming shots. The greens are also very fast. Fairways are large, which takes some stress off your long game. The ball rolls a long ways, so it plays shorter than you think. The sand is taken from a local source, and it is very heavy. Don't expect to slide the club under the ball real easy when you are in the sand. The club house is not very impressive at all, but the course is.
This is a great golf course. each hole has something to look at and decide the best way to avoid trouble. Scoring opportunities are available if the hazards are avoided and the approach ends up on the proper level of the green. The greens have a lot of character, but putt extremely true. A true links style course allowing use of the natural terrain to guide the ball after it has landed. This course is my second favorite ever, right behind the old macdonald course at bandon dunes.
Even after a nasty snow storm just two weeks ago and a solid week of rain, the course played like astro turf. The course was in amazing shape, with true roll on the greens. The surrounding mountains, wind turbines and miles and miles of wheat/alfafa fiels made this course one of a kind. A must play. We played from the Green tees (7360 yards) and the tight fairways helped a lot with the extra roll.
