Good golf course, great prices. On Fridays go to the Hamptons though because there is a Starter at the Woodlands on Fridays whose goal is to ruin you day. Also, you have to try their burgers, they are out of this world!
A nice layout with a bunch of good holes. The price is low, so value is good. The fairways were in bad shape but the greens were good. Play "winter rules." The bunkering is really good...I've heard it's orginally a Donald Ross course.
If you are a single, don't bother. I showed up at the starter just after another single, he put him with a threesome on the tee. There was nobody in front of them, and asked if I wanted to join them. I declined as they were older, and playing the front tees, and walking, I play the tips and was riding that day. He then told me that "I would have a long wait then", and i asked to go ahead....to which he replied "We don't do that here" ????????????? Then what does a starter do there? He said they don't prefer people to play single. It's good to know they don't "prefer" me to spend my money there, because I "prefer" to play where they know what they are doing, and aren't jerks. I got my money back without hitting a shot. But it is fun to play there, despite the jerk starters, several drivable par 4's and all 5's are reachable in 2, heck, I hit 3 wood, 4 iron into one.
Awesome greens, well maintained fairways and affordable prices make this course a must play.
