We got to Pinetuck only to find that they were out of carts. So we couldn't play. This is a GolfLink problem; not at the course ... or so we were told.
I have been a fan of this course for a while now. One of my friends turned me on to them years ago and they have always been my go to. A clean course with a few challenging holes. This is a great course for us weekend warriors. My son is now interested in getting into the game and likes to ride the courses with me. The last course I went to gave me a hard time about him tagging along, they asked several times if he was going to play, and I repeatedly told them he just wanted to ride and watch. But no issues at Pinetuck. I have taken him there a couple of times and they always talk to him and treat us right.
$31 for a weekend rate when all other courses around are $50 is value enough to try this place out. I did and was pleasantly surprised. There was only one person working the pro shop and grill, so he was pretty busy. But once he got to me he was a very pleasant person to speak to. Showed me where to start, where the carts are, everything. The course itself isn't much to speak of. The fairways are okay but definitely municipal quality. The greens don't look like much at first glance...but they are actually maintained pretty well. No bare spots and you get true rolls on each one of them. There is just enough difficulty in carrying water and other hazards to make it challenging yet retain the fun factor. The first 3 holes are great warmup holes...not too difficult. It's interesting to have 3 par 3's and 3 par 5's....nice kind of change of pace.Overall if you're in this area this is a great value. Don't expect a country club level course but if you're looking for good course and good value this place will delight.
Good public course. Greens could use a little love, but it is mid winter. I'll be anxious to see how it greens up this summer. Good value for the price, just nothing fancy.
