Golf course pretty difficult and short, tries to make up for lack of distance with difficult up and downs, shorter than most of the great courses and no real way to fix it, some pretty unfair shots with a creek that comes into play often, overall a nice course but too difficult for most players.
I had the opportunity to play this course at the end of May 2010. The numbers for the Chanticleer course are (tee box/yardage/rating/slope): Championship/6,864/75.1/146, White/6,499/73.2/143, Green/6,210/72.4/135, Gold/5,951/70.8/133, Red/5,338/72.7/135. This is a fantastic course. It is probably the most difficult course which you wouldn't mind playing every day. While not very long it has great green complexes which are very well bunkered and a stream that winds through the property which comes into play on a dozen or so holes. Definitely a great classic course which proves that if you set the greens at an angle it doesn't matter how short a hole is. Hitting the fairways is important, but even if you miss the fairway you better hit the green or it's a very tough up and down. A truly great course.
