Wet and Muddy. A very rude starter. $ 42.00 no with the price!
Fairways were in good shape. A few of the greens were very bare but overall a good place to play for the price.
This is course has improved from earlier this year but it still needs work.
I played the course last week. I was very skeptical after reading the reviews. I want to tell you that I am so glad that I went ahead and played. Everyone at this course could not have been nicer, from the pro shop to the starter. The price was $27.00 and they gave me the veterans rate of $22.00. Fairways are in great shape. The greens are wonderful, at just the right speed. I understand that it is under new ownership and they are trying very hard to improve. Now don't get me wrong the paths still need work. But I don't play a course for the paths. I will be traveling south again in the spring with a group of guys and will put this on our list of a place to stop. I recommend this to be stop if you get a chance. Thanks Kris Anderson
Today was the first time I've played at Northwoods in two years. I haven't gone back for a while because I always felt like my business wasn't appreciated (the person taking the money would usually act as is if I was a burden).Well today, to give them another chance, I went back. Again, the person at the front desk acted as if I was a women begging to play at a Mens Only; golf course (I'm a white male btw). The green's fee was WAY MORE than any of the other golf courses I usually play in the area. About %60 more. So, my buddy and I are on the first tee as a rude Ranger comes by telling us we can't tee off because they have a golf tournament going on. But our tee time is now; I said. He said sorry, but maybe we could tee off on #10. Then, without the opportunity to take a practice swing, he escorted us to #10 and forced us in front of someone else about to tee off. This made them mad, and us very uncomfortable with our first shot. The back nine was worse than a dog track. We couldn't find out balls on the fairways because of too many leaves. Mud was everywhere, and it hasn't rained in two weeks. The greens were the worst I have ever seen (seriously). Mud, bumpy, ugly, and about a 100 on the stimp meter. Finally, we get back to #1 and we get behind a group of 5 players. 5????????? That's just not cool. They were very bad players too. And after two holes, waiting for what seemed like an hour, we asked to play through, and they said NO. So, we quit and asked for rainchecks, but I don't want to go back anyway ever again. My experiences have always been bad, but this was the last time.Oak Hills, which looks nicer than Pebble beach most of the time, only charges 25 and they are never crowded. I can think of 6 more course locally for much less money than Northwoods, but MUCH NICER courses in MUCH BETTER shape, with MUCH BETTER customer service.
