This course is perfect for an experienced golfer who wants to play a quick round at a great price. The course changed owners 2 years ago and they have put money into improving the clubhouse and the condition of the fairways. Don’t let the name fool you - East Greenwich Golf Club is actually a public course. A 9 hole round at this regulation golf course costs $15 walking or $25 riding. An amazing deal for a course at this level. The course is quite long for 9 holes at 3,315 yards. You’ll find two Par 3’s and two Par 5’s. Hole #7 (500 yards) is the signature hole because of the difficult hazards (3 sand traps and a water hazard on the right.) The other long hole (#3 at 520 yards) is also really challenging. You tee off of a cliff onto a narrow fairway with thick woods on the left and right. This course has a hazard on nearly every hole, so you’ll get plenty of practice hitting over water and out of greenside bunkers. Get ready to hit over a lake on Hole #8 (some regulars say this is the most difficult hole on the course.) East Greenwich Golf Club is a good option for intermediate golfers looking to improve the finer points of their game. Since it’s a challenging course but still just 9 holes, it’s not too overwhelming. More experienced golfers will enjoy the level of challenge and quick pace of play. Greens are generally well maintained and feature Kentucky bluegrass, although there is a problem with golfers replacing divots. There can also be dry spots on the fairway occasionally in hot weather. The edge of the fairway is heavily wooded. Greens are very fast, so use a gentle touch and adjust club selection accordingly. East Greenwich Golf Club has an outstanding restaurant called Circe. It’s basically fine dining food in a relaxed atmosphere. Dishes are perfectly plated and it’s a great spot to enjoy the 19th hole. This course offers plenty of challenges (even for the experienced golfer) at a very reasonable rate. It’s a rare find!
A great course for it's size, a course that won't beat you up but will give you a good challenge. This course is good for all ages and I find it flows pretty well with not much of a back up because of the layout. Layout of restaurant and outside bar incredible, and full menu and food outstanding.
Challenging course but well worth your money. Greens are tough and are well taken care of. Course offers a little of everything to make you a better golfer.
Very challenging course with lots of water. Course is in good shape and greens are well manicured.
