It's early in the year, but the course is in great shape so far. They made some changes to the layout and added a few traps to make it even more challenging, but still it's a relatively short track in my opinion.Perhaps that's the one thing I like most about this place... It's a great course to walk and you get a much better feel for your game if you're able to do that. On a nice spring day, you'll get lots of sun and fresh air as the steam from the cooling towers always blows away from the course ;).As for the negative comments regarding the fairways, this was probably in regard to when they were under repair last season. Honestly, I'd be pissed too if I encountered this myself, but it was a necessary evil in order to restore the course to the condition it's in now.Highly recommended.NOTE: Joshua Ryan, a 10 year old from Norristown, plays this course frequently. He finished 3rd place in the Augusta National first Drive, Chip and Putt Championship on April 6th. He's primed to be a PGA Tour sensation from our area (in a few years).
Just wanted to say how disappointed I am with this course. I played there on Sept. 23rd for the first time in many years and it was in terrible shape. Some of the tee boxes were just all dirt, and many of the fairways you couldn’t even tell you were in a fairway they were so filled with crab grass. This used to be a nice course but it has gone downhill fast. Needless to say I won’t be paying $50 dollars to play there again.
Overall I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The greens were choppy and not very well maintained. The fairways were even worse. There were patches of mud/dirt everywhere and you just get the sense that they don't pride themselves on properly maintaining the course. Granted it's been a harsh summer in terms of rain but this was easily one of the more poorly maintained courses I've played this year. Also the price definitely does not match the quality of the course course. I put it in the $25 to $30 range but not $50. I'll skip this one in the future.
