Middletown is a fun course to play and has a great layout but the maintenance prohibits them from being what could be an awesome course. Although the course is relatively short, there are several unique holes and accuracy provides you your toughest challenge especially on the back 9. The value for this course is lacking considering its condition. $32 to walk twilight weekend sounds reasonable and would be if they took better care of the rough and made greens consistent. The fairways are fine, but anything off gets little to know attention which makes finding balls difficult and often feels like you are hitting out of your unmowed back yard.....truly a shame and makes Middletown a one time only play instead of a staple which is could and should be. The staff, super nice and great amenities. The 19th hole has a long wooden shuffleboard which is fun to play after the round while enjoying a beverage of choice. They have logo balls for the collector like myself. Overall rating B-.

Very playable and in good shape when we played in early August. Much better than some other public/municipal courses I've played in teh past. Lots of rolling hills make play interesting even in the absence of par 5s (there's only 1). Bar and club house are acceptable and the food was good for a quick bite after the round. Will be playing there again.
