The course was in pretty good shape especially since we have had the rainiest summer in a long time. All of the courses nearby have suffered some more then others. The greens were in great shape and relatively fast. There are a few holes that seem a bit unfair as you don't have a safe play to hit the fairway but that being said it is a links course and should be a harder course to play. There is a very scenic view on the front nine where you can see South Mountain in the background. Due to all of the rain it was cart path only and I ended up walking 5 miles, of course as we all experience I was never close to the cart path (lol). I got a great deal through GolfLink and would recommend all golfers to experience this course. Quite a golf challenge.
A lot of courses have suffered during the hot stretches this summer. Gettysburg seems to have weathered the storm pretty well, it was in pretty good shape when I played it (7/25/10). Weekend afternoon rate ($47 at 2pm) makes it a pretty good value IMO. I like the layout, except I feel like 13 and 14 are a little unfair off the tee - I'd prefer to be able to choose a side of the fairway to miss on, and on those two you don't have any safe play at all.
