Played this course today and found it poor shape as compared to my visit 3 years ago. The fairways were showing desease along with a few of the greens. Crabgrass on the tee boxes were the norm. The price was very resonable but if they don't start taking care of this place they may loose many customers.
This course is one of the nicest I've been on in the outer Berks county area. Well maintained greens, intermediate level of difficulty, and courteous patrons/staff. The location of the course is out of the way so there isn't much traffic or noise interference either. I recommend this course.
This course is the best kept secret in Chester and Berks county. The course isn't overly difficult, but it is very fair. Most fairways are tree lined, but far enough apart where you can get back in the fairway or even attempt a shot at the green. The par 3's are not short, except for one which is 137 from the white's, but has two traps on either side into a narrow green. There are a number of decent length par 4's of 400 yds. and some of the par 5's you can reach in two if you are a long hitter. The rough is normally cut short, where you don't often lose balls, but this year (maybe because of the rain or other reasons?) they have it longer where you pay a penalty of 1/2 or 1 stroke trying to hit out of it. Not as easy as last year. Water comes into play only on a few holes and the back nine is more challenging than the front. This course is very well maintained and a real deal. Outstanding value for the money! Periodic specials make it even more enticing. Don't miss this one.
