short? yes, but always in great shape, I only play irons here, so a good place to practice iron play. Nice bar area, for a township run course, what more could one want?
Paxon Hollow is a very nice course, well maintained and challenging despite its length which is too short. If this course was about 800 yards longer it might be a superb course, but as it stands it's just great. There are unique holes, some from elevated tees, and the water that comes into play makes playing them fun. Paxon Hollow also is very scenic with woods surrounding much of the course. The greens play fair but are a little too protected by the multiple sand traps guarding them on most holes. The value of $25 to walk weekday winter rates is a really good deal and the staff is friendlier than nearby Springfield. The drawbacks, as previously mentioned is the short length, too many sandtraps in front of almost every green, and they made me pair up which I hate doing if I come to play alone. However, minus these setbacks, it's still an enjoyable place to play and I'd reccommend giving Paxon a try if you can find a time where it is not that busy. They also have logo balls, a plus, for the collector like myself. Overall rating A-.
the course superintendent is an old drywall contractor...need i say more?
