beautiful course in fantastic condition (greens, fairways, bunkers, driving range, clubhouse). personally didn't play well but will go back becuase it was in amazing condition & locals claimed its always in top shape. definitely recommend playing it if you've never been there
Windy Knoll is a great course that I had the pleasure of playing one ago . Very nice staff, one of the best practice greens that I have seen. The course layout is much different than the current card that is shown of Golf Link and I saw 5 sets of tee markers not just a gray set. This course can sure play long, I played from the whites so one in our group wasn't by himself. Well maintained, fairways and greens. It had rain but the bunkers had been worked, lucky I only had 1 sand shot. I found each green to be a challenge to read, ridges, slops, cup placements were all in a location that presented a challenge to any thing more than 4 feet from the cup. You will enjoy this course whatever your skill level , if I lived close as my brother then I would want this to be my course of choice. I would really like to get back soon and give it another try.

The course is challenging. The greens are very hard and even well struck shots will release. Play for a few yards release when hitting approaches. Bring a sleeping bag. Play is extremely slow at times. I've been in back of foursomes who have taken almost three hours to play nine. In the fall the course lets Wittenberg College players onto the course so getting in nine after work is very difficult and frustating. Management really needs to rethink how they treat frequent players. I'll probably not play again next year due to the aggravation.
Beautiful lay out, some chalanging holes
best public course in Springfield hands down. extremely well maintained links course with lightning-quick greens & professionally cut fairways. lay-out seems easy enough but will quickly get you in trouble if you end up in the very thick rough. staff is friendly, price is worth it & club-house/bar is very nice. closest thing to a private course with regards to overall shape
