This is by far the best golf course in the San Fernando Valley. It boasts a challenging 27 holes, that tend to be on the narrow side. I suppose a couple of the holes could be a bit longer, but it's not too far from "par" with the yardage. They have done recent renovations, so I'm assuming these prior reviews are a reflection of how things used to be. The lounge area is pretty spectacular, and the views of the city from up there are stunning. Food & service was incredible, and I think hanging out here for day would make anyone want to join the club.
This course has come so far since the new owners took over almost three years ago. The new drainage and irrigation system is exceptional! There are even days when Braemar is the only course open allowing carts after substantial rain! They have cart paths, a partially paved parking lot, new tee boxes and so many more improvements! The outdoor patio is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon enjoying cocktails! The restaurant has amazing food that is reasonably priced. And you can not beat their Twilight Special...All-You-Can-Golf for $15!
This course is in very bad shape. The fairways are dry and the grass is very sparse in places. Many of the greens have large dry, cracked, crusty spots too. The course has dirt piles everywhere. Holes have been "redesigned" and this has actually made the course worse. The new clubhouse is nice, but the golf course is in such bad shape, why would you want to stay after your round and spend time in the clubhouse? There are no cart paths, the parking lot is dirt (not paved). This makes for a very dusty experience.Honestly, unless something is done to get the course in shape quickly, things can only get worse. This place needs a new irrigation system too.I would guess this course is 3-5 years away from being worth playing if they started on some course improvements immediately.Oh, did I mention no driving range and only a putting green for a practice area? Oh yeah... there is no driving range and only small putting area that can be used for chipping.
This place needs so much work....maybe four years away from being a course to consider. Less if they work dilligently on the course. Put all money in club house....The course is totally hard pan from tee to green. If you have hand, arm, or wrist ailments, this course will hurt you more. Like playing entirely on the pavement. Sucks! Stay away from this place. Brand new Club house but is far over priced for a new place. Needs much lower prices to draw in the people. These prices will keep most of us away.
Dump, no maintenance.
