The Golf Club of Purchase is a members-only club designed by Jack Nicklaus. The course features 4 tees. The biggest challenges you’ll encounter on this course are some very narrow, tree lined fairways and large lakes. Watch out for water to the left on #7, to the left and right on #16 and to the right on #17. Holes #7, #11 and #12 are so narrow they’re practically slivers. Hole #15 (516 yards) is an especially difficult hole. It’s a blind shot that doglegs to the left, and it’s also a very narrow fairway. You’ll catch a bit of a breather on Holes #2 (159 yards) and #14 (198 yards), thanks to the shorter distance, wider fairways and straight shots. Still, watch out for greenside sand traps on these holes. Hole #16 (456 yards) is the signature hole with the highest handicap. With a postage stamp green, sandwiched between water on both sides, aim to the right and take your time and you should be fine. Hitting your driver into oblivion will have you spending lots of time searching for your ball in the trees (or replacing the ones you lose in the water.)This course is expertly designed, the club is very exclusive and it’s a challenging course even for experienced golfers. There’s an updated clubhouse with a full restaurant and bar to enjoy the 19th hole at.
