Robert Moses State Park is an easygoing, Par 3 pitch and putt that’s a favorite with Long Island locals. It’s actually located on Fire Island (accessible from Long Island on the Fire Island Inlet Bridge), not far from Babylong, LI. The best thing about this golf course is you can make it into an outing for the day. It’s a very nice location, right beside the Atlantic ocean, and you can go for a swim after your round. There’s also a boat launch if you really want to make the most of your time at Robert Moses State Park. Robert Moses State Park golf course is 18 holes, but you can choose to play the front or back 9 for a quicker round. This is an excellent course for a beginner or junior golfer, as well as an experienced golfer that just wants to fit in some basic practice. There’s a good pace of play and a relaxed, low pressure feel. The greens are straight and wide open, and the longest hole is #13 at 110 yards. There are also a number of shorter holes, with the shortest hole being Watch out for thick treelines and brush surrounding the greens. There can be a large number of flies at certain times of the year, and they bite. So, you’ll definitely want to bring your bug spray. If you lose your ball in the brush, I recommend putting a new one down on the course to save yourself the risk of getting a tick bite. The price at this course is very reasonable - $11 for a round or $8 for seniors. There isn’t an official clubhouse, but you can rent a cart and clubs. Overall, this is a basic Par 3 course in a beautiful beach-side location. Watch out for flies and bugs. Enjoy a relaxed round at a great price and sharpen your skills.
