Greens are a little rough, round was ended early by ranger with no prior warning because it was 6:50pm, 3 holes unplayed. Haven't ever been so disappointed by an outing.
A complete disaster!! This course is complete crap!! It used to be really nice, but they stopped putting any money into it. Save your $55.00 and play somewhere else. This is a cow pasture!
Today I played golf at Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville NJ. We booked our tee time based on an advertised rate on the Wedgewood CC website of $40. When arriving at the club, the manager insisted that the advertised rate would not be honored and charged each member of the group $59.00.The manager claimed that these were the owners instructions. This type of bait and switch advertising is not legal, and should not be tolerated by the surrounding community. This type of fraud gives all small businesses a bad name.
I played Wedgewood last year without writing a review and played it once again yesterday. I can honestly say the course conditions have improved dramatically. The fairways don't have nearly as many bald spots as it did ESPECIALLY on the back nine. There are actual fairways now. So the maintainance was generally pretty good. The course itself is decent. The front nine is pretty boring, barring hole 3, wide wide open with little excitement. If you only have one ball left to your name come and play the front only without fear of losing it. The back nine is what makes the course worthwhile though. It's tight, tree lined, and has some nice holes. Generally the challenge of Wedgewood comes from the distance and keeping it straight on the back. There aren't too many really unique holes, but the layout is pretty good and the course fun to play mainly because of the back 9. I've never seen a course with such contrast between the front and the back going from really boring to a lot of fun as Wedgewood offers. The price of $24 to walk weekday twilight isn't a bad deal and the staff in ridiculously friendly. The greens are fair and roll true and play to an average to slightly fast speed. They have logo balls for the collector like myself, another plus. I'd reccommend giving this place a shot at least one time, maybe not much more, but it's worth going here at least once. Overall rating B+.
This course is in very good condition with bent grass from tee to green. It's long and tight with an excellent layout. It's challenging and a true test for better golfers. It is an upscale course at an affordable rate.
