pleasant and friendly staff.. course needs lot o work but playable..played first time out after long shutdown.. enjoyed it.. pace was good. with 2 people pairings
This course is a challenge on a windy day, but I CANNOT recommend it to anyone, unless you want to possibly get injured by someone else's errant shot, and there are many of them. I am not a great player, but I average around 92. This is a hackers paradise, and you need a helmet here. altho, I think the back nine is pretty decent. I'd pass on this one, tho
This course is crap and overcrowded. They also allow walkers on the weekend when it should be cart only with the amount of tee times the book. I played last sunday with a 10:30 tee time, It took myself and two of my buddies six hours to complete 18 holes. Not to mention, the so called "ranger" was telling us to hurry up and hit the ball while people were still on the green and our shots would have 100% hit them. If it was not for these darn coupons I bought, I would never play here again. Thank goodness I have two left!
I played here twice recently because it's only 25 minutes from my house. Not a bad course, but there's a couple of crazy-short par-3s that just don't seem to fit in. I'm told it was originally a 9-hole course and they had to force in a couple of extra holes when they expanded to 18.Way overpriced for what you get, but convenient for those in North Jersey. Also, you don't need a tee-time weekdays, which is nice, but can get backed up on weekends (14 players ahead of me when I arrived on time for my tee-time.)
The convienence of the course is why I would recommend the Meadows. If you are in Northern NJ and need a place to play at the last minute, then this may be the course for you. As mentioned in other reviews it is a little pricey for what it is worth. I paid around $65 to walk (you do not need a cart here), but i think with a cart you are looking at $80 plus, which at that point there are plenty of nicer courses out there for that type of money.
