WOW!!! What a difference a year makes....came through last year and Brantley the superintendent introduced himself to us and apologized for the condition of the course (we thought the course was in great shape). Anyway, played there a couple of weekends ago and there was a 30 minute wait time on the tee sheet. We waited and boy was it worth it!!! Apparently they hired a new guy there in the pro shop named Randy Davis that everyone in Rocky Mount and the surrounding area knows and the place is bustin' at the seams.....dont know whats going on but boy is it a good thing!!! In Myrtle Beach for a few weeks but definitely making a point to stop there on the way home to NY. Only negative I can give them is there is no beer sold there (you can bring your own) and not much of a variety of food(no hot food)just snacks. Overall a great bargain at a soon to be top golf course!!!
We play at Northgreen at least 2-3 times a week. Can't beat the value of $20 for 18 holes and that includes the cart !!! It's the longest course in the area and it's a challenge to play. No frills golf at it's best.....no bells and whistles, basic pro shop with food and sodas, clean bathrooms, friendly staff. Again, you can't beat the price for a challenging 18 hole round of golf !!!!!
Northgreen has a long history and is a well established course in the area. The design is impeccable and an excellent challenge for a low to mid-handicapper. The course has undergone its fair share of management issues but is doing better now. It will take more time to get the course back into the shape it was during the ACC days but it is a wonderful and fun place none the less.
We played a charity outing at Northgreen yesteray and could not have enjoyed it more. We stayed late and played an extra 9 holes. We were treated extremely well, the greens , fairways and even Tee boxes we all in xlnt shape. ( Cart paths stil need work but who cares). All 4 of us were quite surprisedat how nice and how much fun the course was. The price is a real bargain. It is a 2 hour drive for us to get there but was so much fun will make the drive anyway. No Mickey Mouse Holes, very enjoyable golf.
