When it comes to deciding where to tee it up, golfers in the Charlotte, NC area have a lot to choose from. And for players who choose The Divide Golf Club, they won’t be disappointed with all the club has to offer. The Divide is one of 11 clubs in the Carolinas managed by Pinnacle Golf Properties. PGP is highly regarded in the industry and specializes in every facet of course operations and facility management. They offer new clients realistic projections and objectives and have a passion for the game – and business – of golf.

The Divide Golf Club is located in Matthews, NC, about 20 minutes southeast of Charlotte. The Divide – aptly named because it stretches across two counties, Mecklenburg and Union – opened in 1995 and features an 18-hole championship layout designed by John Cassell II. You’ll find five sets of tees with yardages that run between 5,183 yards from the Red Tees to 6,922 yards from the Gold Tees. From the Gold Tees, the course carries a 73.2 course rating with a 138 slope. Play the tees that best suit your game and you're sure to have a great time.

As you make your way around The Divide you’ll find wide, spacious Bermuda grass fairways with strategically placed bunkers that lead to large Diamond Zoysia greens. Diamond Zoysia is resistant to extreme heat and because it’s so thick, there are fewer ball marks. If you’ve never played on them before, you’ll find they are consistent and provide a true roll. They’re easier to maintain and their vibrant green color and smooth texture make them a course superintendent’s delight. The course is always in great condition and because of its design, you’ll end up hitting every club in the bag.

Water comes into play on several holes but none more so than on Number 18, a 524-yard par 5. You start from an elevated tee box down towards the water which for most players is not reachable, however, the fairway bunkers on either side are. A good drive will leave a decision; lay up to the island fairway on the right and leave a manageable pitch shot into the green or go for broke and try and hit the green. This will require about a 220 – 240-yard carry over water into a green protected on three sides by bunkers. No matter which shot you choose, You’ll have to play over the water.

The clubhouse at The Divide Golf Course brings together a blend of comfort and hospitality. Enjoy the breathtaking views from the Divide’s indoor, full-service bar or from the terrace that overlooks the golf course. The golf shop features the latest logoed golf apparel from some of the game’s top manufacturers, all at competitive prices. It’s always nice to leave with a piece of clothing that tells other players where you’ve been. After all, every logo tells a story!

In addition to having a fun, challenging golf course, The Divide offers the only driving range in the area with Toptracer technology. That’s the blue line you see on TV when they show the ball flight of a player’s drive and it’s transforming driving ranges all over the country. The Divide’s Toptracer Range is a place where people of all ages and ability levels gather. They can choose to have an in-depth practice session or play a variety of fun and skill-based games. Players can follow the shape of their golf shots and receive instant feedback data or compete against friends. The data that is captured (i.e. ball speed, clubhead speed, launch angle, etc.) allows you to analyze your swing and discover areas of your game that could use a little improvement.

The outdoor patio around the hitting bays of the Toptracer range features lounge seating, roomy tables, and an outdoor bar. With The Divide’s new Order Anywhere feature, food can be ordered from the clubhouse and served at your hitting bay, providing an entirely new level of convenience and enjoyment. No more interruptions or intrusions, just a seamless practice/entertainment experience. Another reason why The Divide’s Toptracer Range is the perfect place to relax and unwind while you socialize with friends and family.

If your golf game is not where you’d like it to be or perhaps you have a child interested in learning the game, the dedicated golf professionals at The Divide can help. They offer instructional programs focusing on the full swing, short game, and putting as well as on-course lessons. Individual, group, and junior lessons are available. And practice is available year-round on the Toptracer range!

So, whether you’re looking for a golf course that will challenge your game but still let you leave with a little dignity intact, a place to practice that will give instant feedback, or a place you can gather with family and friends, The Divide and its Toptracer range has something for everyone.

Decent course for the price. Not too difficult and not too easy.

I have played this course before, and booked this course through EZlinks for a great deal. I regret going there Today. I paid for 3 rounds online. Two of my friends checked in and paid at the course, Therefore; we paid for 5 rounds. Unfortunately the Clerk did not tell us or say anything, since we were on different parts of the course at the time. The same person was not around when we finished. So the man we talked to "Bob" did not want to help at all.

Customer Service:

Horrible! Worst Customer Service of any course I've ever played. The man I talked to is in the dark ages. We had an issue of over paying. The first thing he said was "I can't help you." He ask for a paper receipt. I offered the one on my smart phone and he acted like that wouldn't be good enough. He said he would call the GM Mike but I knew this could be handled immediately . I told him I would wait for him, but wasted my time there. The clerk also told me I have no idea how his job works. He raised his voice at me and made it personal as well. I Showed him the receipt on my phone and he still didn't seem to understand. I called the GM Mike and may hear back but It does not matter.

For the price, I didn't expect much from the greens or fairways but this experience should not happen to anyone in 2013. I will refer my friends to any course but this one.

This course is nice. Have some ugly bunkers that dont have nice sand and greens are alittle ot of shape and slow. but teeboxes, and fairways are in great shape and the rough areas are long and present a good challenge when you are not hitting the fairway. However, this course is a little pricey for what it is. The course is located in a housing development and you will be paying $47-65 for your round.. If you are trying to save some money.. i recommend a course only 5 miles from here called Charlotte National... their rounds play for $27-40 and their staff is EXTREMELY nice and its run by country boys, they keep the course in good shape and if you like playing in an open environment instead of a housing development, its a great course to go to... just know not to expect private course material while paying under $40.
