Conditions are sub par. Pace of play slow. Staff was very rude and inappropriate to my wife.
I would probably leave a worse rating but since I was playing the "after 3pm" special for $25, I can't really complain for that price. The course is set in a beautiful area and is a bit strange as a par-62 but the tee boxes and greens are an absolute disaster. There is tons of dead grass and crab grass everywhere. Our 4-some probably had at least 10 putts impacted directly by the crab grass. I would play here again only for that $25 special, but I'd never pay full price.
Executive courses don't normally tempt me...but seeing this course from I-70 enticed me to play. Monday's are Mens Day with a walking fee of $22, so I felt I got a good value for my round. I do think that this course with cart is slightly overpriced. But for a Par 62, the lay-out is nice and challenging...and it is no wonder that the course is called Willow Springs. I understand from others that the conditions (early June) are the best they've ever been. I thoroughly enjoyed the round, realizing that I wasnt' going to use the driver much (no Par 5s and 10 Par 3s). But within the short distances, a very distinctive course stood out. Lots of "Lovegrass" and other waste areas add challenge and scenery. The rough around the greens was rather high, but the greens themselves were very fair. This is the best executive course I've ever played...a real course feel for a bit shorter round.
