Meh. Where to start? First the circus tents for clubhouse is creepy. Sorry, I feel like I am going into the it house to be killed by clowns. Slow ringing up of rain checks (no fault of the nice lady working) caused the starter to come to us and give his best grumpy "get going, you're 10 minutes past tee time" crap. Saw cart girl on second hole and then never to be seen again. No snack shop or even a vending machine at 10. Finish 18 in PA and drive back to circus tent in MD. Too many dog legs. Price is high for the atmosphere. Positive: 10-14 are beautiful holes. Been there three times and really never had an enjoyable experience. golf itself was ok, more like survive dog legs and tree hung fairways, but that is ok. everything else seems like "hey, we are wisp or fantasy island" or whatever it is called now could care less about that extra mile for the customer or hell, just the first mile would suffice. Other than one nice lady working circus tent the one year and cart guys, a subpar staff. go to Oakland, they are great there and the price/course is good as well.
Expensive round of golf for a bit of frustration....that's how I felt after leaving. I like the setting, especially in fall, but dogleg after dogleg gets tiring after a bit. Like someone posted earlier...it helps to have played the course more than once. Example: Perfect drive on 18-right down the middle ended up in a trap due to short cut fairway grass and slope. Tree in middle of fairway (can't remember which front hole) is a gimmic also. Tight fairways with trees usually on either side. Some long Par 3s and 5s and 4s are lengthy. Course was more for surviving than shooting a relatively good round. Liked the three holes on the other side of the road. I just think the designer went a little over board here...too many doglegs (think I said that before)!
