Great food and friendly staff, but the course needs some help. First, the layout is quite difficult for a moderate to high handicapper. Hole #2 is near impossible and you need a really strong drive from the whites on 18 to clear the water. The rough was ridiculous and the bunkers were unraked and did not have rakes so you could rake your own bunker. Holes number 17 and 18 are pretty holes though. The price to play was not expensive, so we received what we paid for.More course maintenance needed. Cut down the rough and rake the bunkers for starters.
Not such a good experience. When we called the morning of play we were quoted a very reasonable price; when we showed up 3 hours later, that price had risen 40%. Maybe a bait-and-switch technique? Once you are there you are more likely to keep your tee time than to go elsewhere? I don't know. Guy in pro shop very nice, very friendly--just apparently not honest. Next we headed out in the cart. Attempted to avoid driving over the joggers using the cart path (3 to be exact) was a little stressful on the narrow bridges. The holes are not very well marked, got lost twice. Had forgotten my water bottle--big mistake, as there were no water coolers on the course. At least it was a pretty day! Unfortunately the peace was consistently disrupted by a young man on a tractor who insisted on mowing each green as we played them. We finally lost him after 5 holes. Very noisy, not fun. Finally, the balls were hard to keep up with on this course. The greens are very small patches of grass surrounded mainly by bramble, brush, swamp and woods. Pretty--just not much green!! Maybe better for jogging instead of golf?
