While revised layout is interesting, the course looks like a sad shell of its former self. I'm sure there's a significant portion of this that's related to the recent crazy weather, but there is a general shabbiness that belies full attribution to that excuse. Fairways and rough cut relatively high and at same length, very spotty tee-boxes, and slowish/shaggy greens. The greens are probably the highlight of the experience. This is not the worst I've ever seen, but with memories of this course being a well-maintained and thoroughly enjoyable track, it's quite sad seeing it in this state of relative disrepair.
Great course. Medium size greens 25-35 yds. 3 of 4 Par 3's are tiered. Moderate speed. Plenty of obstacles, water, fairway bunkers, trees. This course has really come in since fairway trees have grown to full size. Distances are challenging especially from Blue tees. Greens are large enough to hit from 150 yrs or closer. Bunkers are moderate to shallow. Bluegrass fairways well maintained are usually wide and easy to hit. Overall not a "wide open" course but generally wide. Good course to bring out the "bomb" driver.
