Over the years this course has improved, yes it has had a couple of rough years, but this last one, the greens were rolling well, I played almost every day, I would suggest this course to many friends.
I joined as a new member this spring, eager for a pleasant summer golfing. However, early in the spring, just after the season opened, the course closed for a month so they could affect repairs to the greens, which had deteriorated over the prior fall and the winter. Fine. Good. I'd forgo the available golfing to allow them to get the course back on its feet. The course opens again after the month, greens noticeably improved, though the fairways and rough are realistically too long for play. Over the course of the next two months, the maintenance done on the course succeeds in killing off nearly all greens, to a point much worse than when the Board elected to close the course The fairways alternated wildly between too long to play and 'we just cut 3 inches off the top and left hay rows'. Ultimately, by August, both the fairways and the greens are gone.Perhaps it was simply a bad summer and the perfect storm of ill-luck that succeeded in ruining the course. Or perhaps they've just entirely given up on actually having a golf course at all.#shakes head#I don't know and honestly, I will not sign up next year to find out. On the upside, they do have cold beer in the club house, which warrants two stars.
