I loved this course and then I hated it. The front nine and the back nine are like two different courses. Lots of elevation change on both nines and great scenery, but while the front nine is wide and forgiving, the back nine feels like it has been shoe-horned into a space not really big enough for a golf course. Most of the par 4s and one of the par 5s on the back are too short to hit driver and the fairways are only 30-40 yards wide, maybe. Front nine: fun, back nine: some poorly designed holes in my opinion. Greens are in good condition, tees are very beat up, and the bunkers need serious rehab. However, it is a fair deal at $36 - anything more would be a rip-off.
First off, it's Whitepath...one word, NOT White Path, and it's a county-subsidized privately owned course that has beautiful scenery, fast, challenging greens and a great layout. We've played family tournaments there in 2008 and 2009, and there are folks traveling from over 900 miles from and four states to play the 2010 event at Whitepath because the track is fun, challenging, fair and picturesque, the staff is wonderful and the cost is very reasonable. I don't want to pay $85+ for golf just so I can have valet parking, a beverage cart girl and lush tee boxes...I wanna have fun! Whitepath is a good course for a great price.
