I really wish the Marshall would leave paying people alone and let them golf their game...he says something to me literally every time I am there. One time I was on the 15 the hole and he was golfing ahead of me..directly ahead of me. Came up to me and my wife and mentioned something he thought I did on the 8th hole...he was golfing ahead of us. I have been 100 feet from the boxes, and greens golfing with good etiquette, and something gets said, every time. And on most days he parks his cart on the hole I am hitting, last time out, he parked on the dirt trail on the 18th. I told him sometimes I go astray and don't like him being there he would not move directly in front of where I am driving on the 18th hole.
Great course and very friendly staff.
Feb. 2012 - Just played a tournament there today. The course was in pretty good shape for February. I understand it was rough a couple weeks earlier. The greens were hard and smooth, (I like it that way). Tee boxes were rough, but how much time is spent at the tee box? Driving range is good and a good value. Staff is very friendly and curtious. Bathrooms are clean. This is a walking course with no carts available, but the holes are close enough together and walking is not laborsome. This particular day was very windy and the narrow fairways are tricky to navigate in the wind. You need to have some control if you play on a windy day there. There are a couple of residential streets and the river to avoid with arrant drives. I generaly don't like executive courses because I like to use my driver more that my irons. This course was a nice change though. I'll have to try this course again when the weather warms up and the bermuda grass turns green again. Definately worth the time and a good value.Update to this earlier review. I've since played here twice more and am not impressed. The greens are not consistantly maintained the ground squirrles have run of the course, digging holes everywhere. Both times since my first expierience, the greens have been in terrible shape. They might as well have taped the whole course off as ground under repair. Everything else about the course is fine. But they don't charge enough money to keep the conditions in good shape. Really dissapointed. Won't be back.
I guess i get what I pay for. As I was golfing, they turned the sprinklers on me. The maintenance guys sat there in his cart and watched me. I told the guy at the front desk and said o well. Ill never go back and advise you to do the same.
Best course I've been so far to when it comes to a friendly environment. You're treated as family from the moment you walk in. Well balanced when it comes to beginners (inexpensive lessons and understanding instuctors) and those looking for a bit more of a challenge. The course is extremely varied, and the Front 9 is very nice for practicing irons. Very good price value as well. Highly recommended for those with children who wish to have a shared family experience. (The environment has improved considerably since the last review below)
