Not exaggerating- probably the best value in golf I have ever played....the $39/$44 rate is almost like stealing golf. This course is top notch in every way, from the tee boxes to the fairways to the bent greens. Every hole is unique, just an A+ layout. Do yourself a favor and go here if you haven't already.

Fighting Joe seemed to be the more popular course at the facility this day. I found it to be entertaining although not as scenic as Schoolmaster. One of the guys in the foursome liked the Joe better than Schoolmaster so it just depends on whether you like more traditional or more links style courses.

Had a 9:10 a.m. tee time on Oct. 1, 2010. After the first hole, we had to wait for every shot - didn't finish until nearly 2:30 p.m. Aside from the extremely slow round, everything was top notch.

The Shoals is the best of the RTJ facilities I have played. I preferred the Schoolmaster Course to the Fighting Joe Course but only because I prefer the traditional layout to a links layout. An absolute bargain during the summer months!
