This is a fun course to play in a somewhat out of the way place. We've recently had a good amount of rain so maintenance looks to be just a bit behind. I found the greens to be in really good condition, though there were two that are in danger of grass loss. It's not a long course, but it's got some teeth. There are appreciable elevation changes throughout the course that make club selection a bit difficult. Having played it the first time today, I can't wait to go back with the knowledge that I gained about the layout.I appreciate the staff. They do make one feel welcome. It's just got a lot of Southern Charm.
Poorly groomed greens, subpar fairways, and lack of amenities bring down a course that is overall a pleasant experience. Short holes, wide fairways, and large greens make for easy scoring. Great value if you come early, greens fees are good for entire day. Amenities are lacking, there are a couple of vending machines throughout but no turn or water fountains so be sure to bring drinks and a snack. Course was not crowded and staff was friendly. Enjoyable round and definitely worth playing twice. Hole of the course: The #3 and #17 par three are interesting holes, and with the drastic elevation change from the tee box these holes are fun and challenging. Both greens are surrounded by water and thick brush so if your first shot is off, odds are you will be dropping your next one.
